Get To Know Coach Booker

When Donte Booker is not coaching, you can catch him teaching 9th and 10th Grade Math. Booker has been coaching for 15 years, and although this is his first year at Imagine Prep Coolidge, he feels “that our student-athletes are put first and their overall success is of utmost importance.”

At a young age, Booker became interested in sports because of Ken Griffey Jr (MLB), and Chamique Holdsclaw (WNBA) and the University of Tennessee. Years later Booker decided to get into coaching to become a positive role model and make an impact on our young athletes. Booker’s goal is to help his athletes stay motivated and become the person they want to be in life. He is extremely proud when he sees one of his players achieve a goal or dream that they felt was too difficult to accomplish. The most important piece of advice he shares with his athletes is the importance of being coachable, learning from your failures, and being in shape.
