New Facility Opens at Pan-American Charter School

CAA_SchoolPan American Charter School Athletic Department is excited to announce they’ve built a new facility for their students. The new facility is located 83rd Ave& Thomas and sits on approximately 17 acres of land. Mr. Todd Wade, the Head Administrator or Principal, has spearheaded the construction of a K-12 campus, and the facility is in the final stages of completion. It is projected to be opened by mid-July.

The facility houses two full-sized soccer fields that separate the high school and elementary school buildings. There are multiple outdoor basketball courts, outdoor workout and recreational areas, indoor wood floors, and a volleyball arena. Further, the buildings will hold approximately 1200- 1300 students combined.

“We’re extremely excited about our new facility,” says Pan American HS Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director, Marcus Bailey. “Our new campus will not only ignite learning in young minds, but it will also allow numerous extra-curricular activities and facilitate well rounded, holistic individuals.”

Pan American HS Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director Marcus Bailey said the ongoing COVID 19 and the cancellation of the 2020 spring activities have taken away his opportunity to interact with his athletes. He misses the energy, enthusiasm of the young, and enthusiastic students.

“My advice to athletes is to make every moment, and every day counts, understanding that tomorrow is not promised. And, the best ability is sometimes your availability or dependability.”

Further comments by the Head Coach, Bailey, regarding the new facility were, “Our athletes are looking forward to practicing and competing on our spanking new facility,” said Bailey. “We look forward to beginning workouts and training this fall while strictly following CDC health practices and enhancing our students’ safety. We can’t wait to continue our participation in all levels of soccer, basketball, and volleyball. We also plan on expanding our program with activities such as track& field, wrestling, and flag football in the near future.”

Pan American Charter School is a proud member of the Canyon Athletic Association. “Besides unifying our Pan American Charter community, our athletes have a chance to participate in competitive sports,” said Coach Bailey. “With the help of the CAA competition, numerous student-athletes have attained athletic scholarships.”

This year, one of the male soccer players was accepted at Dakota Wesleyan University, and three of the female athletes attained scholarships for soccer at SMCC. Overall, there were 12 graduating student athletes out of a graduating class of 30.

Further details about the new facility will be forthcoming. Please continue to check https://www.panamericancharter.org/ for updates.
