Congratulations to Nicole Tatum, recipient of the 2019 – 2020 CAA Athletic Director “Vinny” Award. Nicole’s work this year has really impacted the lives of so many student-athletes, coaches, and community members alike. This award recognizes her hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Nicole Tatum is the Athletic Director at San Tan Charter School. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then worked as a social worker for a program called Healthy Families. Nicole is a mother of two children and after having stayed home to care for her family for seven years, she went on to volunteer at San Tan and become their athletic director. She has a passion for working with children and families, which has been at the heart of all the work she has done this year.
Upon news of receiving the award, Nicole said, “Being awarded the “Vinny” award is such an honor and I am beyond humbled for this. Working with the CAA has been such a positive experience and has really helped our athletic programs provide the positive, skill developing, cutting edge experience San Tan Charter School strives for within the San Tan community. The dedication of our student-athletes and their families are what make our programs at our school possible and we receive the same passion from the CAA in supporting San Tan Charter School.”
